Gentoo needs to survive

According to this article there is a big problem @ Gentoo.
I can still remember when I needed to set up a Linux server with one requirement in mind: make it as fast as it can go! And I can also remember how fast it was after my Gentoo installation was complete (48 hours later).
Gentoo is one amazing distro and I would hate to see it go…
I do hope that the decision makers will see it is in everyone's interest if we keep Gentoo alive.
